Reading together
- Every story page ends with discussion prompts. There are no right answers — they are written to keep a conversation going for five more minutes.
- Reading times assume reading aloud at a relaxed pace, with pauses. Silent readers will usually finish faster.
- Nothing on this site requires an account, and there is nothing for a child to buy, post or sign up for.
- Classroom use is welcome. Please note that this build is sample content and should not be taught as cultural or historical fact.
Questions
- Who is Ananse Adventures for?
- Children aged roughly 6 to 12, and the grown-ups watching alongside them. Adventures are made to be enjoyed together.
- Is this traditional Anansesɛm or something new?
- Both. Ananse Adventures combines traditional Anansesɛm with new fictional adventures and carefully researched Ghanaian history and culture. Kwaku Ananse and his family come from Ghana's storytelling traditions; Nana Abena is an original Ananse Adventures character.
- Do the characters change real history?
- No. The family may travel to, enter or observe historical settings, but they are never presented as causing real historical events. Researched history is always kept separate from the fictional adventure.
- Is the content on this site final?
- Not yet. Episodes are in production and several companion sections are high-level placeholders until the researched material is written and reviewed.
- Where is the character artwork?
- Tasteful silhouette placeholders stand in until the final character designs are supplied.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There are no accounts, comments or purchases — watch, read and explore freely.
